Motocross Boots

Motocross boots are usually associated only with motorbike riders and hence range from below the ankle to above knee boots. They typically have an all over a regular footed boot with a low heel but sometimes even a curved heel to assist the rider in controlling the bike. These boots protect the rider’s feet and ankles from rocks kicked up during the race. There are many types of motocross boots available today and the most popular of them is the racing motocross boot which is designed to be very much stiff so that it does not easily become loose or get smashed in the race. The racing boots are usually made of carbon fibre to help reduce weight and also the race style is almost exclusively full length and has little or no side cutout that allows for full vision of the race ahead.

Motocross helmets provide the complete protection for the head and neck and are required by law in most countries. Motocross helmets differ to regular helmets in many ways such as being lightweight, usually made of foam, extremely durable and having good ventilation. Many of these motocross helmets come with removable liners which can be changed as per the rider’s requirements. The helmets are designed in such a way that they do not impede the Rider’s vision and in fact work to make the rider more visible to the spectators. In some countries it is also prohibited to wear motocross helmets which often leads to people being fined or even banned. This form of helmet is one of the most popular amongst the riders for its safety features.

Motocross boots also differ from regular boots in that they have no laces or zippers at the edge of the boots. They are generally made of cow hide or suede with the inside having a strip of material across it like a zipper to allow easy access of the sole. The sole of the boot also helps in absorbing and dispersing the shock of the landing of the rider’s feet when they land on something sharp. There are four main parts of a motocross boot with the innermost being of the shank which fastens the sole to the boots, the lacing at the ankle which attaches the boot to the ankle, the heel which fits over the sole and the buckles that secure the boot to the foot. Most riders have their own style of boots which help them customize their motocross boots into the design of their bikes.
